Loeries Supports Touch Up Skills Acceleration Programme For Youth In The Creative Industry

The Touch Up programme, powered by The Loeries, aims to create stronger youth networks. The Touch Up takes the form of a series of practical workshop sessions over a three-month duration. Each session will be run by an industry leader and will unlock important themes such as leadership, storytelling and tough conversations. Justice Mukheli and Abey Mokgwatsane are a few guest speakers who will be sharing their insights and experience with the select group of participants.

The programme was announced by Touch, an organisation focused on enabling the seamless transition of new talent into the creative industry. The Touch Up which will be powered by The Loeries, Africa and the Middle East’s premiere creative festival. The programme is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 to 35 years old who are looking to navigate the challenges of entering the workplace and the soft-skills required to thrive in the creative industry.

For any creatives that would like to be part of The Touch Up programme, follow the registration link, fill in your details and add a 100-word motivation letter stating why you would like to be part of the programme. Lastly, add a link to your favourite piece of creative work. The Touch team will review applications from Thursday 27th May until Sunday 6th June. Successful applicants will be announced on Monday 14th June 2021.

Alongside the Touch Up programme, Touch hosts a free monthly interactive series structured to bridge the gap between student learning and industry experience through collaborative ingenuity and training. This is to advance skills development in the creative industry and accelerate youth employment in South Africa.
