In her multifaceted role as Integrated Director at The Racket Club, Sunshine Shibambo will spearhead the integration of creative and strategy, aligning the company’s thinking and executions.
Grant Pleming, Founder and Managing Director of The Racket Club, expressed his enthusiasm for Shibambo joining the team: ‘Shibambo fits our culture with her entrepreneurial spirit and get it done mindset, having run her own agency Cheri Yase Kasi pre-COVID that held accounts with Distell, DSTV and SAB. Shibambo has kept her feet within the industry since then, working with numerous brands on creative, strategy, and execution. With her one foot heavily dipped in SA culture, she’ll be there to make sure we are essentially impacting culture and not just following it.’
With almost two decades of experience, Shibambo boasts a solid and respectable footprint in the marketing and advertising industry, encompassing a diverse mix of clients and South Africa’s influencers, event managers, corporate brands, PR and media companies. Her career has been marked by a commitment to cultural impact, a key metric at The Racket Club.
What sets Shibambo apart is her extensive experience across diverse industries, guided by female leadership that helped shape her into an industry leader and expert. She has actively contributed to the creative industry through hosting, judging roles and panellist work at renowned events such as the Creative Circle, Pendoring Awards, Sunday Times Next Gen and The Loerie Awards.
Reflecting on her new role, Shibambo shares her excitement: ‘Joining The Racket Club is an incredible opportunity to continue impacting culture and driving creative and strategic integration. I am thrilled to be a part of a team that values cultural influence as a business metric, and I look forward to contributing to the company’s continued success.’
