Rainmaker Marketing has won the coveted title of the Best Development Marketing in Africa for 2021/2022 at the International Property Awards event held at the Savoy Hotel in London. A hotly contested and esteemed industry accolade was awarded for the marketing campaign on Devmco Group’s Salta Sibaya development in the Sibaya Coastal Precinct on KwaZulu-Natal’s North Coast.
‘We can’t express how overwhelmed we are that we have achieved such incredible results and have been internationally recognised as a global leader for our marketing. The campaign for Salta Sibaya was a true reflection of the outstanding innovations, strategies and skills we have been working on as a team for over nine years,’ shared Stefan Botha, Director of Rainmaker Marketing.
‘We won the award for Best in South Africa at the end of last year, which then gave us the ability to compete against all the country winners from within Africa for the award of Best Development Marketing in Africa. Naturally we are delighted to not only have represented our country but to be recognised on a continent level.’
‘It’s not every day that you are able to work with a developer who hands over the reins and trusts you implicitly to create a campaign that aligns with their vision. I knew from the moment Charles Thompson, Director of Devmco Group, shared his masterplan around Salta Sibaya that we had to be part of this journey. From the state-of-the-art architecture, the pioneering smart technologies being incorporated, the lifestyle aspects that have been introduced, along with the dedicated teams behind this project, it makes us proud to have been awarded this title for such an incredible project that wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible efforts of the entire team involved in the development’, shared Botha.
While Rainmaker Marketing used many of its trusted and proven strategies for the marketing execution of Salta Sibaya, it was their ability to adapt their plans regularly and during unprecedented times that really set this campaign apart. Salta Sibaya was launched in the height of Covid-19 and had to keep in line with lockdown level regulations, where many restrictions on public gatherings were in place. Coupled with market uncertainty, the international award-winning Umhlanga-based marketing agency focused on creating strong brand awareness through an integrated campaign that adopted new digital marketing technologies to reach people at home.
‘As Devmco Group, we are exceptionally proud of Rainmaker Marketing for achieving the Best Development Marketing award in Africa. It’s always been our goal to partner with the best industry experts on our developments and it goes without saying that we couldn’t have partnered with a better marketing agency. We have fostered a strong relationship with Rainmaker Marketing, across all our developments, and know that their ability to always push the envelope, along with their industry know-how and passion, is what sets them apart and helps drive the success of every campaign,’ shared Charles Thompson, Director of Devmco Group.
The award-winning Salta Sibaya launch campaign targeted very strategic KwaZulu-Natal suburbs with a balance of digital, out-of-home and traditional marketing. To combat the Covid-19 second wave in particular, Rainmaker Marketing proactively created a hybrid sales solution to support the usual face-to-face methods. This solution allows buyers and investors to purchase property online while giving them a sense of trust and security in the product, as well as direct access to professional teams and virtual ways to purchase.
‘Salta Sibaya is a testament of how the culmination of vision, strategy, continuous research and the evolution of proptech is changing the landscape of property development marketing. It is incredibly rewarding to have local excellence celebrated and recognised on a global scale. A successful strategy also requires significant teamwork between all members of the professional team. The campaign success is testimony to remarkable collaboration between ourselves, Devmco Group, Devmco Realty, Craft of Architecture and Anthony Whatmore Attorneys,’ said Botha.
