Press Room has welcomed Trenton SA and Hi-Tec to its portfolio. Agency founder Lorraine Maisel attributes the agency’s sustained success to its strong strategic lifestyle communications and influencer relations offering, and its ability to adapt to a changing world.

With an innate passion for the fashion industry, stylist and art director turned entrepreneur, Maisel founded Styling Concepts in 2005 and Press Room in 2016. Maisel has over 30 years of experience across a wide range of disciplines within fashion, lifestyle, beauty PR as well as the media, working closely with South African and international leading brands, personalities and publications.
To keep up with its client growth, Press Room recently made two strategic hires: Charla Mentoor joined as new Senior Account Manager and New Business Development, and Chanelle Mac Allister joined as new Senior Account Manager.
Starting out as a Junior Account Executive at a boutique agency in Cape Town, Mentoor’s love for connecting with people and various industries is what fueled her passion for a career in PR. 6+ years into her career, her extensive experience and connections are thanks to working with brands such as Edward Snell, Brown Forman, Beam Suntory, The President Hotel, Akademie Street Boutique Hotel, Sir Fruit and Crocs South Africa.
From starting out as a PR intern at boutique agency, over the years Mac Allister has grown to see the value of PR to clients. With 6+ years’ industry experience, she has amassed an extensive media relations database and experience, activating PR projects in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa for brands such as Cape Union Mart, Sunglass Hut, Red Bull, Pernod Ricard, Distell, Old Mutual and RCS.
