New Marketing Manager Announced For New Balance South Africa
Angie Austin, Marketing Manager at New Balance South Africa.

Having been at New Balance for seven years, new Marketing Manager Angie Austin has worked in various departments and takes on the new role with a broad understanding of New Balance South Africa operations. Austin has taken on the role to replace Katharine Stewart who has moved into the National Sales Manager role.

She joined New Balance in 2014 as a Marketing Assistant and her role was to provide support to the National Sales Manager and the sales team to ensure all New Balance strategic marketing plans were implemented successfully in-store and online across wholesale and key accounts to meet business objectives.

In 2017, Austin’s title changed to Trade Marketing Co-Ordinator, still forming part of the marketing team. She was then promoted to Retail Brand Presentation Co-Ordinator in 2020, working closely with the National Retail Manager to co-ordinate and execute the creativity of launch assets as well as manage all suppliers to ensure successful rollout of campaigns, promotions and activations across all New Balance stores nationwide.

‘I’m excited and thrilled to take on this new role. I have worked closely with the marketing team since my start in 2014, working on big projects such as the New Balance partnerships with Comrades Marathon and Cricket South Africa. I believe that the experience I have acquired across the business will be valuable to the team. I’m also a keen ‘working mom athlete’, so working for a sports brand like New Balance is an absolute cherry on top for me,’ said Austin.

Austin is also an avid trail runner; mountain biker and currently competes at national level for Surfski and Canoeing. Her passion for sports has inspired her to give back to her community by coaching Micro Nippers at the Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club; a club that teaches the basics of lifesaving and beach safety every week throughout the summer to over 300 children aged between four and 14 years.

‘I am delighted for Austin on her appointment. We believe that this new role will empower her and the marketing team to do great work and take the New Balance brand to the next level. Austin’s experience, passion and commitment to the brand is what awarded her this opportunity and we truly believe that she will be of great value in executing our commercial plans and brand strategy,’ said Craig Bowen, Country Manager New Balance South Africa.
