The Marketing Research Foundation (MRF) announced the appointment of Johann Koster as CEO of the organisation. The MRF is an independent non-profit company, acting as the custodian and repository of research expertise for marketers and their advertising industry partners.
Koster will be spearheading the MRF’s upcoming MAPS initiative and working closely with existing and potential members. He has a long and steady track record both with the MRF and South African Audience Research Foundation (SAARF) where amongst other duties, he oversaw SAARF’s organisational repositioning and developed sustainable value propositions that were needed at the time.
‘I’m extremely passionate about the research industry and am especially looking forward to launching and updating the industry on MAPS, the long-awaited products and brands replacement survey for AMPS, soon. We know that this comprehensive national product and brand data research is long overdue to once again drive improved advertising effectiveness and ROI. It would be remiss of me not to thank my predecessor Greg Garden for the great work he put into building and enlisting new members into the MRF. We wish him well for the future,’ said Koster.
He is by trade a commercial strategist with compelling leadership skills and a proven track record in leading a team. Detail-oriented, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, he is well placed to elevate the MRF to its next phase of operation.
Existing board members of the MRF are Virginia Hollis, Brenda Koorneeff, Bruce Williamson, Immaculata Segoa and Celia Collins with alternate representatives Anneen Dedekind, Nomsa Khanyile, Andile Kona and Sharon Bergman.
