Loeries New Young Titans Award Recognises Young Creatives

The Loeries Youth Committee has launched the ‘Young Titans’ Award. The Loeries Youth Committee began in 2021 and is made up of 14 young creative minds from across Africa and The Middle East. Modern Marketing is a proud media partner of The Loeries.

The Loeries Youth Committee’s objectives include the amplification of positive societal messaging amongst the committee’s peer group and a structured platform for networking and the transfer of skills with the view of ensuring that top talent remains in the industry.

This year’s cohort are launching an award for the youth, by the youth, to recognise young talent, and also to ignite a spirit of fearlessness, creativity, and innovation that will drive the industry forward. By offering mentorship, feedback, and resources to young creatives, this award not only honours their achievements but also nurtures their growth, ensuring they are not going into the process blind but rather with a clear path toward success. It’s a transformative opportunity for the rising stars of the advertising world to learn, grow, and shine in an industry that thrives on innovation and ingenuity.

Preetesh Sewraj from The Loeries said, ‘The Loeries Young Creatives award is a great initiative to get more young people ready to enter as well as judge at a world-class Loeries level. The Young Titans Award will be a great feeder award to ensure even more young people are taking advantage of the benefits of eventually becoming a Loeries Young Creative winner at the annual Loerie Awards.’

The new awards are called the Young Titan Awards. Young Creatives from around the region are invited to enter 3 pieces of work by 10 November 2023. ‘The Young Titan awards is much more than just an award, it’s about unleashing the creative potential from the AME region,’ said Inaan Budhiraja, Youth Committee Member and Strategy and Insights, Publicis, Dubai.

‘As we establish a tradition of youth-driven awards, our vision is to create an enduring legacy where, year after year, young creatives aspire to be a part of this movement and actively contribute to its ongoing growth. This ensures that creativity remains a pivotal force driving the industry forward. Moreover, we hope that this initiative becomes a springboard for young advertisers, propelling them into the industry’s spotlight and providing them with the recognition and opportunities they deserve,’ commented Teresa Makori, Deputy Chair, Loeries Youth Committee and Creative Director, Ogilvy, Kenya.

The call for entries will take place three times in the year and the current Youth Committee will form the judging panel. ‘Think fresh narratives and unique stories from passionate creatives, all in one platform – that’s The Young Titans for you,’ said Youth Committee Member and Megan Fowkes, Art Director, the Living Room, Dubai.
