JCDecaux Unveils First Digital Bus Shelter Screens In Singapore

JCDecaux’s 2.2m-high screens on Orchard Road and in the Business District are the largest free-standing digital screens in Singapore and are the company’s first digital screens in its bus shelter advertising network.

Audio equipment specialist, BOSE, stepped forth as the launch advertiser to dominate the digital faces with five visuals to promote awareness of its partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, and showcase its latest range of SoundSport, SoundWear and QuietComfort technology

The campaign will be displayed on more than 200 digital faces and some 20 static 6-sheet faces in prime areas at Orchard Road and the Business District. These screens enable brands, such as BOSE, to connect with shoppers and workers in the area, as well as tourists visiting landmarks in the heart of the city.

Victoria Yustinovich, Head of Marketing, ASEAN of BOSE said, ‘We are delighted to partner with JCDecaux as the first to dominate the digital screens in the prime shopping area of Orchard Road as part of our integrated marketing activities. This golden opportunity during race season provides a dynamic platform for us to establish a strong brand presence among shoppers near our retail outlets and our experiential retail activation booth. We look forward to continue working with JCDecaux and are especially eager to explore how these innovative solutions can showcase BOSE’s state-of-the-art audio technology.’

All digital panels are powered by JCDecaux’s proprietary system, SmartContent, for impactful creative executions and dynamic campaigns to deliver greater ROI. SmartContent enables panels to deliver contextual brand campaigns with live feeds for the weather, time, traffic, social media or other customised content. More innovative solutions to engage audiences will be available in the coming months, which include live streaming and on-the-spot interaction triggered by real-time analytics captured on camera, such as gender, age, colour of clothing and movement.

In addition, advertisers can now play campaign videos on pedestrian-facing digital screens. JCDecaux’s signature panels provide an enhanced viewing experience through high-contrast and premium quality visuals at 3500 Nits, wide viewing angles, and automatically-adjusted brightness at night and in the day for better clarity. The panels encompass double-sided digital screens as well as hybrid screens with a digital and a static side.

Evlyn Yang, Managing Director of JCDecaux Singapore said, ‘This has been our highly anticipated return to bus shelter advertising that is an essential element in the Out-Of-Home space. Our digital panels will bring greater vibrancy to this scene for brands to communicate with audiences in an accountable manner, alongside new possibilities from our suite of premium innovative digital solutions.’
