Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) South Africa appointed Lerato Songelwa as deputy Managing Director.
Managing Director Jennifer Leppington-Clark said, ‘When I took up my position as Managing Director for H+K South Africa in October 2018, I was aware that a key part of my remit was to help prepare the next leaders of this market. I am delighted to announce that we are ready to take the first step in this journey with the promotion of Songelwa to deputy Managing Director.’
Songelwa has worked at H+K since April 2016 and in her most recent role has led the Consumer, Lifestyle + FMCG practice at the company, which she has helped to grow into a powerhouse over the last couple of years, expanding H+K’s client footprint to include tourism, retail and fashion and consumer tech. Throughout her 13-year career, Songelwa has worked on a variety of client accounts across different sectors.
