Finalists Announced For The 2023 New Generation Awards

The New Generation Social & Digital Media Awards have established a reputation as the largest independent digital media awards in South Africa. With over 400 submissions received this year, the finalists have been announced. Modern Marketing is a proud media partner of the awards. 

Stephen Paxton, founder of the awards, said, ‘There were many stand-out campaign submissions this year that performed high above the radar and many initiatives from some of South Africa’s best-loved brands that South Africans have become accustomed to during the past 12 months.’

‘Many new agencies and corporates entered this year, showcasing fresh and exciting work that truly grasps the concept of digital innovation and community engagement,’ commented Paxton. ‘New Gen would like to thank each and every one of you who entered this year, you outdid yourselves and entered some truly great campaigns.’

‘A big thank you to our esteemed judges for their insights and hard graft over the past three weeks, who each marked on average 75 submissions, with the entries and categories equally split among the 21-strong judging panel, each marked by a minimum of 4 judges.’

The 2023 awards gala ceremony will be hosted at The Hilton Hotel Sandton, on Wednesday, 27 September, proudly sponsored by Standard Bank South Africa and Wunderman Thompson South Africa.

In keeping with tradition, a five-hour-long banquet-style ceremony will be held, hosted by actor and voice-over talent Thabiso Bapela.
 The ceremony is a celebration shared between agency and client teams. It’s a coming together to unwind after a busy year of intense pitches and campaign executions and to be awarded for your efforts. This event promises to be the highlight of the 2023 awards calendar, and is powered by Monster Productions (Tech fanatics).

A selection of hot and cold plated starters, a main course buffet, and plated desserts will be served, all freshly prepared by Executive Chef, Gareth Jordaan. There will be a cash bar on the night. Entertainment will be provided by Morgan Beatbox, South Africa’s number 1 Beatboxer and DJ, whose new stand-up performance will surely blow your mind.
