Connect, the media agency part of M&C Saatchi Group in South Africa, has appointed Marvin Kgasoane as Managing Director of their Johannesburg operation.
Further to this, Rita Nel and Michele Cameron – currently Partners at Connect – have been appointed Chief Client Officer and Chief Operations Officer respectively. Connect recently added Astron Energy (previously Caltex) and Lancewood to their growing base of clients.
Martin MacGregor, Connect Founder and M&C Saatchi Group SA Partner: Media said, ‘Our Group mantra is ‘The people with the best people win’ and with a leadership team of Nel and Cameron, now joined by Kgasoane, we have a dynamic and talented team to take Connect to the next level. It’s a very exciting time in media and the team cannot wait to continue to drive our digital media transformation and to provide existing and new clients with strategic smarts and innovative media solutions we have become known for.’
Cameron said, ‘We are very excited to have Kgasoane joining Connect. He will provide dynamic leadership in Johannesburg and has the right expertise and experience to further grow our client base there.’
‘We are privileged to have Kgasoane as part of the team and his experience will greatly support Connect’s overall vision to drive Harder Working Campaigns across our portfolio of clients,’ added Nel.
Echoing both their sentiments, Kgasoane said, ‘I am very excited to be part of the Connect team. I have been watching them for a while and I definitely feel like I have landed in the right place.’
Kgasoane joins the team from Publicis Media, prior to which he worked at DSTV Airtime Sales, Vizeum and was Media Manager at Nedbank. Nel, who will focus on client relationships, has been with the agency for seven years, having previously worked for Zenith in Italy as regional head on the Ferrero Rocher business. Cameron, who will focus on product development and growth, joined Connect last year and was Head of Planning on the O2 business for Havas in the UK.
